Certainly like what you have done Makka very nice you could always add other calibres if required I had the 12g plus .22 rimfire all it took was simple offset barrel holder and a bit of time.Name: IMG_0273.jpeg

If I could find some more barrels then I would definitely build up some more calibres, but that seems easier said than done!
I have a 308 barrel sitting there ready to machine down when I do find another Baikal barrel

If every Baikal 12g barrel fitted the same could be offering different calibres for owners, the one I showed had the barrel offset but the last one I did was concentric but I had the firing pin hole offset and had the firing pin offset to the rest if the pin, was also able to utilise the extractor but doing it that way I had to for go the 12g. One of the forum guys had a stack of unused still in grease 16.1mm diameter Anschutz.22 barrels just over 16” in length, wish I had got a few I would do a few more, the one piece holder could be aluminium and just the lock need be steel, rattle a few out at a time. Still have drawings if anyone wants them. I still like the single shot aspect.

.22 and .17 could be quick interchangeable barrel pinned in barrel, the drawing was just a quicky for my job making it and shows it being offset the photos show the concentric one just using 12g barrel which was up and firing in a couple of days, I would have made a proper holder for it but I had a few hares to quickly dispatch.

Looks good! Maybe I could just make a monoblock instead of finding old barrels to stub.

A bit more progress, I glued on and shaped the ebony grip cap, just need to round it over now.

Time for a few of the finishing touches before I get into the fine sandpaper, I wasn't quite sure what to do with the step in the action but I think this'll end up looking ok

not as well as I had hoped with the 75eldm's but I knew they would be a stretch with q 1:9 barrel.
I have just loaded up some 73elds's and 62gn Gold Dots to test and have to pick up some 74gn Targex's off Tahr at some stage to try as well.

I would back the Targex. Gold Dots are dodgy things to get to shoot.

    Cheers mate.

Buttstock is done now so time to move onto the forend, although I have just broken my thumb so that'll slow me down for a while.

A bit of an update, the broken thumb (plus plate and 6 screws) has slowed me down a touch but I'm back into it next week making the forend.
One thing I have done is decided it looked a bit too "American" with the truoil finish so I have sanded that off and finished it to 800 grit ready for some "red oil" that I have made with boiled linseed oil and alkanet root.
Thanks to Von Gruff for the advice on making the oil, it has been stewing away in the hotwater cupboard and hopefully it is ready to go this week
