Cheers guys, it's taken a while but it is satisfying seeing it take shape.

The red oil is pretty straightforward:
Alkanet powder soaked in 5 parts boiled linseed to 1 part gum turps. I left it in the hotwater cupboard for a week, shaking daily then I strained the alkanet out and bottled.

I have another batch brewing, this time using refined artists linseed oil and brewing it for a bit longer

Forend shaped and first two coats of red oil, the end is in sight!
I need to get it outside for a photo, the shed lights do funny things with the colour of the timber.

    That looks amazing, nice work.

Range report? I have had good luck with the 73ELD-M's in multiple rifles and bad luck with the 75HPBT in multiple rifles.
