the jw103 is not the most spectacular example of firearms engineering, their barrels realy are crap, if you find it is still inaccurate you may need to have the crown recut, but as they are poorly manufactured, it is likly that the bore is not in the middle of the barrel. I have found that a 90% crown can fix accuracy problems. No garrentees tho......
good luck with it, I suppose the one thing is if it dose not work out it hasent cost too much.

this is a JW105, does that make any difference?
Before i floated the barrel i was able to hit smallish targets at 100, shot a car stereo a couple of times and put a few holes through a couple of 100mm dia posts so that's all i'm looking for at this stage. The trigger is awful and my abilities likely aren't real flash so it's probably shooting ok and all i want to do is shoot goats with it in the forestry and scrub so i don't have great ambitions for it. It's more about learning how things work, a couple of weeks ago i hadn't heard of bedding a rifle, i had heard of floating barrels but didn't understand what that was so it is serving a purpose. That and once i've been hunting a few times with it i'll know if it's the right calibre for me and what other things i'd prefer for when i get something decent so it's a good starting point.
