    [QUOTE=

Action flex ? I thought that was the whole point of the four . Do you think , for a hunting rifle , that one of the "smithless" mounts would be better ? . I want to make a hunter based on a four but with a one piece ( Winchester ) stock , so I will have to get rid of the wrist metal, just gotta find an action , or a shitter rifle for parts[/QUOTE]

The no4 action flexes, just not as badly as the No1. The front pad on the no4 often worked loose on the Ts, not unusual to see evidence that the front screws have been stacked 3 times on that front pad.

Ive yet to see nice words on the "smithless mounts" but Ive not as yet seen a bad word on the canadian "T" side mounts, ie the ones with a single "leg" and 3 screws, but Ive not looked too hard.
