I think its probably a lot of work for little reward and the difference might be immeasurable but as you say, nothing ventured - nothing gained. And hell, it was probably a bit of fun in any case so what the heck, right?

I "machine-polished" the visible part of my bolt so when you look at it through the ejection port it has polished circles about 7 or 8 mm in diameter across the side. The kids told me I was nuts. But hey, it looks cool and who cares...? I was having fun.

I think the modification I spoke of above is more rewarding... for a lot less effort. Give it a go.

Didn't take long with the dremil and some compound, got any pics of your bolt ? How do you achieve the circles ?
