Who needs to add serial numbers in CHCH?

I recently got my own Engraving Pantograph and have started on the firearms I have that don't have any serial numbers.

With the right gear it's actually pretty easy.

If there are a few guys want this done in CHCH I might bring it in some time and have a session at someone's place doing it as a public service.
    No charge

At this stage I'm a learner driver.
Can only go down to 4.5mm hight text.
    Letters and numbers.
    Surfaces can be slightly convex.

Might have to make a plywood carry case for it to make it easy to take on a road trip

I wanted a pantograph to do caliber markings on the barrels of my vintage restorations

    Here's a practice on 4140 barrel steel

Also a good way to meet some local forum guys into old stuff like me

I don't think the gun makers in the mid 1800s ever conceived these guns would still have been used

So they just didn't bother with serial numbers and caliber markings

@Micky Duck well you had better go out and buy yourself a properly old rifle then that's pre serial numbers

spoke with my son last night re this .he works in a booth in a prominent chch mall and uses a laser engraver-$30 for 20 letters and it can get down to minute-saw the inside of a engagement ring fully engraved .apart from public perception(and resultant kardashian hysteria) He reckons barrels bolts actions whatever -no problem
