That's the way it went in UK in my experience, I also always put my shotgun into a gun case dismantled so it was less obvious and you never discussed hunting or guns outwith your friends.

That's one of the reasons we left new labours socialist UK failed economy but it seems UK new labour has arrived in NZ I believe comrade globalist cindy worked with woke bankrupt labour UK around that time.

We love hunting fishing our gun dogs and the outdoors and have seen NZ change under comrade globalist cindy we might have to move yet again.

I am sure labour were discussing banning angling back in the late 70's

    Those crazy fun socialists!

The thing is, if we are a law abiding LFAO what exactly are we doing wrong for this to happen? Be seen by the public? I would suggest the person calling the police has the problem without knowing the facts first.

The point I'm making is we shouldn't have to hide what we are doing if we are not breaking the law.

You can hardly blame the ordinary public for reacting to the sight of a firearm or what they think might be one after the ChCh disaster and the ensuing beat up against all things guns. Public negativity, fear and assumptions are simply a natural consequence of this.

Negativity was around long before the Christchurch incident: think media reporting and Cahill's flappy lips.... It has gotten worse since then however....

The media are the scourge of the thinking man.

Sadly there’s a real shortage of THINKING men - or anybody.

    A "natural" consequence?

Hmmm, I dont think so. It was fueled by Govt, cop bosses and media that that is the way the public are to respond to such an occasion. If the govt, cops and media had of played it as an unusual one-off event of some import nut case who gained possession of firearms and lost the plot, the result from the public would have been very different and there would not have been the negativity towards firearms owners.

This reaction was staged, it was created and installed, it wasnt natural at all in my opinion.
