A bit late to this question, but I would ask the question of the Arms Officer where do they plan to store that information securely. It's a simple question but a big headache for any government agency, as most are now acutely aware of their obligations with regards to personal information (this would fall under personal information). IT people do not want information they do not know about on their systems, because in the event of a data breach this is the sort of stuff that gets them in trouble.
I've thought about doing an oia request asking what classification the information will be in accordance with the NZISM.
I already know the answer but it will make someone shit their pants when they start to realize what they have to do.
