Had my interview yesterday. The Waikato is currently running around 5 months from applying to get through the process.

Just been through process, put in paper work end of January, all interviews and security checks done by first week in April and they approved and said new card will be 6-8 weeks so around end of May.
More than happy with procedure and time to get it done.

Let us know when your new licence actually arrives.
A family member had the same "6-8 weeks" response as to when it would be issued (must be a stock answer) but it actually arrived about a week later.

    We live in hope.

My licence arrived in the mail today so the whole process took four months or thereabouts from start to finish, pretty good I thought.

About the same for me - applied early Jan, licence arrived in mail last week. What surprised me a little is that the letter than came with it said I need to take the old expired licence into a police station to be disposed of.

Same here. I'm inclined to hang on to the old licence until it expires and then take it to the cop shop. I'm concerned that they will cock it up and cancel my FAL rather than just disposing of the old card.
