    True but I think they look at from the view that once licensed you could purchase a firearm at any time and under the law it needs to be stored securely.

    Interpretations of the law aren't the law.


    One can be licensed and not own a firearm - there's not requirement to own a car when you have a driver's license.

    One doesn't need and one isn't legally obliged to have secure storage when one doesn't own a firearm.

    At the point one owns a firearm it must be securely stored - and there's still no legal requirement that it be stored at one's place of residence.

    This is why we, holders of firearms license, get screwed over. Too much interpretation of the law that isn't law.
