Thanks Coop, that was easy. Don’t know why I couldn’t find it the other day. Even more perplexing is when you use their help there’s nothing there.
Probably because it’s so straightforward they didn’t expect some dumbarse to ask :)
Sorry if this has been covered but 41 pages was a bit much to read through.
Can we see what rifles are actually registered to us? All I can see is a pdf of my submission, how can we check if they are transferred to someone else if we sell them, the website says we must ring them and let them know.
But is there a paper trail etc for us to prove we actually did this. And can we see it is no longer in our name?
How dare I spend time in the Uk - now I have the good grace to need to cough up GBP55 Pounds for a UK Police record...
It costs £55 to get the certificate. ($114.21 at time of writing )
It may take up to 20 working days to receive a certificate.
Good luck on getting that Cert into my application within 2 months...
What are the delivery options?
Delivery by first class post or standard airmail is included in the application fee. International tracked delivery is available for overseas addresses at an additional cost of £9.
International Courier delivery will cost £48 per application. It is not available for UK addresses or PO Boxes (except for the United Arab Emirates and the Cayman Islands). ACRO use CitySprint to deliver certificates
We're not a liked bunch are we??
@Nasty Factory Trigger - be glad you didn't live in South Africa. The local NZ police station needed to break out an actual ink pad fingerprint kit for me - something they had not done for a while. That form needed to be filled out, signed and witnessed, and sent to South Africa by courier. Still, despite that, it was cheaper than your UK experience! Fun times!
Just registered my guns. That was painful.
When filling out your licence details, your name has to be exactly the same as on your FAL (i.e. capital letters). I missed that and had to phone them. After being on hold for a good while, nice lady said it was a common problem and the form should be made to default to capitals. Also, don't use autocomplete on the forms and make sure there are no spaces after your names.
Gun registration was a headache. To my mind, it suggests that use of the Firearm Reference Table ID is optional. It is not! Put some details in to the form (e.g. manufacturer; calibre) and then hit the search button to find your gun. Some pitfalls, it looks like a fairly comprehensive list, but it is not.
That's an hour of my life I won't get back, but it's done.
I did mine over the phone. Easy.
Haha. No. I got some nice young lady who was very paitent while I pulled my firearms out of the safe one by one and gave her the details.
Sorry if this has been covered a million times...whats the deal if an unreged person sells their rifle do you have to reg it first or does just the new owner have to reg it?
I just copied this from the arms site mate
The first time you sell or supply an arms item, you must record it in the Registry and provide the following details at the time of the sale or supply, or immediately after: the date you handed over or dispatched the arms item, and. the name and licence number of the person to whom the item was delivered.

Cool thank you
Just going through the process now as have just moved. Had to go through that RealMe identification thing which was bad enough let alone the registering part.
Sorry if this has been covered but tried to register on my phone, and have spoken to them on the phone but they can’t tell me what to do with my blaser r93s.
They say for switch barrels register the calibre that is on the gun at the time, but the serial numbers are on each barrel rather than the rifle. The kicker is my custom barrel doesn’t have a serial number on it, but the factory ones do.
Thoughts on what to do? Worried if I register the barrel and I get pulled up with a different barrel they won’t be happy.
Or do I register each barrel as its own firearm?
Is the receiver serialised? I haven't held an R93 for a while so I can't remember if they do. If receiver has a serial. I would personally just do that and then have the calibre as whatever one you use the most. Then ignore the barrels as they aren't a major part under the rules as I see it.
Though, I'm just some shcmuck. It probably isn't a bad idea to go and talk to one of the local AOs in person. Go down to central Police station in Chch and see Jason there? I would trust an AO over any of the FSA staff over the phone for that sort of stuff.
Na no serial number on the receiver that I can see, could engrave one but don’t really want too.
From memory there is a serial number on an R93 receiver, but you have to take the receiver out to see it. For my K95 I just used the number on my barrel.
On those does the bolt lock into the barrel extension or into the receiver? I can't remember, but if the barrel contains the locking lugs it's the receiver as well. The tube at the back is just a convenient place to hang the trigger, magazine and guide the bolt... If you whap a serial onto the 'receiver' the barrels are still in theory able to be used in another rifle? How is the bolt numbered? It may be that you need to serialise the unmarked barrel and register that, I dunno. It's one of those questions that needs a proper answer and just hacking it doesn't work. What happens if you end up wearing out or selling the barrel that you used to register the thing is another question, or if you have it out and it gets stolen or lost but it's wearing one of the other barrels?
Each barrel contains the receiver essentially. The bolt locks into the barrel lugs. So putting it that way it probably is the barrel that is the integral part of the firearm. If you wear out the barrel you cut it of but the serial number would remain on the “stub” so you would just re-register the same serial number to a different calibre if you rebarelled
To be honest that makes sense and is probably why the main serial is on the barrel stub, because Europeans have all sorts of rules about firearm numbers allowed etc.
The bolt doesn’t appear to have a number. Again two parts, the housing and then the bolt heads which are interchangeable.
I have a desert tech with a number of barrels as well but serial number is on the chassis/action so a bit more straightforward.
For those registering via phone, just be aware your actual firearms may not appear on the system as registered to you for a while.
But you do get a receipt emailed to you.
I had a few weirdo firearms that I couldn't do online, so Rang them in. In all honesty after trying the two processes Id recommend ringing them in. It was far easier than the clunky online system and was faster.
Hey guys random question.
Can anyone actually see what firearms are registered to them? I went to register a couple tonight. And fuck me what the hell. I can't see a list of firearms registered in my name only forms I submitted and shit I did over the phone just doesn't even exist on there. So here I am sitting at home thinking I'm doing the right things and their ass of a system doesn't display half the shit I've got. Like what the actual hell. On top of that it says my profile isn't validated? What's going on with this croc of shit
In order to view your registered items you need to validate you account. The following is from the FSA website...
How to validate your MyFirearms account
Step 1: Log in
Visit MyFirearms and log in with RealMe. You’ll need your mobile phone to carry out the security check.
Visit MyFirearms
Step 2: Go to My Submissions
Select the ‘My Submission’ link at the top of that page. This will take you to your My Submission dashboard.
Step 3: Go to MyFirearms Submitted Forms
Select the heading ‘MyFirearms Submitted Forms’. This will show you all the forms you have submitted online.
Step 4: Find your Complete Your Profile form
Under the heading ‘My submitted other forms’ you'll find a link to your Complete Your Profile form. The link will start with the letters ‘CYP’. Select the link.
Step 5: Save and print the PDF
You’ll find a PDF file at the top of the Complete Your Profile 'Submission' page. The file name will be the date you submitted the form. Save it to your device, then print a copy out.
Step 6: Bring the form to a Police station
Bring the printed form in person to a Police station, together with your firearms licence card. Once your identity has been confirmed, your MyFirearms account will be validated. This may take a few days.
OK, I'm now confused. Registered my details and guns online. All done?

Click the hyperlink in picture 2 that starts with CYP-
Wait, and shrug. When that doesn't work ring them up and have a bleat, then they look into it and ring you back I think. Happened to a guy I know, he did the profile complete step and followed all the instructions and it still didn't show anything and rung them up. Was working at their end but he couldn't see a thing logging in. I haven't asked how he got on with it, but it definitely isn't user friendly or easy for a select few who for whatever reason are singled out for the treatment by the system.
I phoned. It's all good apparently. I did it all online and didn't have to take forms to the cop shop.
It's an "Online system," that should read, "On telephone line system."
I do all my guns comms over the phone, the people are user friendly, the system is not.....
You don't need a "validated" account to register items. However having your account "validated" allows you to see a list and details of the items registered against your license number.
You ain't supposed to be able too, until Validated. Flaw in the system.....
You may be able to see the Firearms you registered through the online system or more likely the registration form you submitted but you shouldn't be able to see any you did by phone without the validation.
What a shit show of a system. How is this even fit for production release?
Logged in with my Realme account and tried to complete my profile which seems to be the first step. Apparently it can't match my details to a licence - please call Te Tari Pukeko.
Ring up, get through all the woke greetings, sit in a queue for 16 minutes.
Eventually someone decides it's time to answer the phone - more woke greetings. Helpdesk girl tells me that signing up from a mobile phone is unreliable so I need to use a desktop computer. Goes on to explain that the system sometimes struggles if your name on your licence is in all caps, in which case you need to input your details in the registration form in all caps too. I ask if she can create my profile with me on the phone but nope, can't help with that.
Go to a desktop computer and log in to begin registration. Try 50 different combinations of my name in uppercase, lowercase, title case, and everything in-between. Eventually work out that they just don't like my middle name, so first and last name only and in all caps it is.
An hour later, I now have a profile! Time to try register my incredibly run of the mill and you'd think widely supported hunting rifles.
First CZ 223, all good.
Then I try a Howa 1500 in 308. There are 3 variants, all with the exact same details except for being labelled "model 3", "model 4" etc at the end. How on earth do I know which one I have? No idea, so I move on.
Next I try a Winchester Model 70, but this time apparently the rifle doesn't exist in 7mm-08. So no can-do, have to ring up Te Tari Pukeko again so I can sit in another queue to get someone to decide that Model 70s in 7mm-08 do exist. Except that by now it's after hours and the helpdesk has gone home after a hard day of keeping NZ safe, so I'll have to wait for another day to go through all this again.
It's very hard to comply when they do their best to make it the most difficult process possible. I wish I had avoided an activating circumstance to delay participating in this farce.
So logged in with real me (no problems)'
created profile (no problems)
registered all my firearms last week ,still saying submitted, does it any stage actually lodge them with my profile or are they just dragging the chain???
