Like I said in the post about the cable bay range goat shootings. Not sure how to link to it?
Awesome own goal there for legal firearms owners!
We all need to step up and these people need outing, if we witness these things they need reporting to the police so these people lose their licence.
"However, the Civil Aviation Authority said the firearm was being transported lawfully."
Meh
Identify your target beyond all doubt
Yet another sign of the times guess. People in general are going to be high alert , and will react with caution/outrage etc at every little thing that could possibly be deemed a threat.
Saw it growing up in the UK during the days of the IRA campaign. You couldnt put your shopping down for 5 minutes without someone crying "bomb alert"

Fake News.
People will only remember the fake part.

Can admin re title the thread it appears the rules may have been followed properly.
Read both stuff and herald and my take is the passenger followed process.
What is not clear is if the firearm was in a locked case and the passenger had notified the airline at check in per avsec regs.
If the firearm was in the passenger's suitcase and they were hoping to avoid the extra bag fee then he is indeed a dork of the highest order. Maybe, just maybe he was trying to fly under the radar because of the highlighted sensitivity atm. Perhaps is was just a poorly thought through action.
I suspect that if the passenger had followed the rules and used a gun case and checked it in, none of this would have happened.
Need to change the thread title to "Who is the retard journalist that can't write a factually correct article"
Unfortunately the resulting long list of journalists names would crash the whole site...
Hope he sues The airline, if it was an employer at fault he’d get 50k!
Boom, cough,cough,cough
Oh.no. a person had a rifle in their checked luggage. Bad person!
The best camouflage pattern is 'hold still and be quiet. '
Some of you people should read the article properly. The firearm was being transported legally as checked baggage, just as you're meant to.
@woods223 The original article was about someone trying to board the plane with a rifle as a carry-on.
It was bullshit, and the article has since been totally rewritten.
I had a cop bring his .308 Norma Magnum into the shop for a trigger job. You guessed it! Fully loaded mag and one up the spout, safety off! He hadn't used for a few weeks before he brought it in. Needless to say, I gave him a good reaming over it.
@Cigar. I was referring to the linked article in the first post of this thread but no matter.
Edited as put wrong name by mistake first time
