    Easy.

We are not even saying there is anything wrong with the dog related lunacy. Only that we need room for more than just that.
What you are proposing is how it should be, and I am confused at your earlier post that I had it wrong?? I want to have a section where people can peacefully discuss their dogs - I have much to learn. However, I want to be able to ask questions and discuss options with other people without getting attacked, berated or put-down, otherwise I just won't waste my time (which I am thinking the majority of people feel).
Given that the majority of shit-fights involve or are caused by Ruff in the dog section, I naturally figured the first section you mentioned would involve him and all the others that want to debate with him over various issues time and time again - issues that many other hunters/dog people would find irrelevant and be dis-interested in, and those that just want relaxed discussion would be in the second section. Now if I have this wrong, I sincerely apologise, and will not post further in the dog section as obviously I am not interested in bitch-fights every second day.

the people that have a lot to say is because they know something others dont --it is just how it is presented .There is little use getting negative answers without a fix as it carries several pages of bullshit on that helps nobody --we just need to moderate crap really

its true Spanners and frustrating -if a question is asked one hopes for an answer not a 1000 mile journey around the planet to arrive back at the same place --that would be my only beef here -the fact were argue is quite normal in a dynamic sport -no need for people to get overly upset if they dont like the answers given .

Tussock , this is where people hijacking threads with non relevant info is a pain in the arse -someone was accused of it day before yesterday lol .If its not generally about the thread being talked about leave the comments for a relevant thread . Views may vary -nothing wrong with strongly stating your case -its a forum and a forum is where people do that .The difference is if your are said to be wrong a case needs to be presented in a sensible manner .
I guess opinion can be dressed to look like a fight also it is all in how it is presented and we all do that differently

It's not one of those forums. We assumed correctly our members would have the mental capacity to relate one post to another within a thread. Primary school level reading comprehension.

Essentially, if a member, any member, wants to post in a thread on their forum, they have the right to. You guys have the right not to like it, and so not reply, but you don't get to tell people to what they can and can't do.

This forum allows off topic posting. Simple. No one gets to declare themselves a self appointed moderator. If you want a forum where on topic posting is strictly enforced, google is your friend. Go find one.

We interfere the absolute minimum. All these justifications for the behaviour in the dog section are nonsense. It's a complete shambles. We don't interfere more than absolutely neccassary but clearly this is a very special case.

We will either rehabilitate the dog forum, or we will take it out the back and shoot it.
Tussock thats just silly and you know it --you start a thread talking about a rifle and i come long and talk bout my car --smart stuff!

What exactly are you worried is going to happen? Someone might talk about something on a forum, which is for talking about stuff?

People talk about off topic stuff all the time, it's the way conversations naturally develop. We're not going to sit around all day making sure no-one ever strays even slightly from the exact topic discussed in the thread title. No one cares.

El-B, who the fcuk cares ? It's a forum... and a pretty decent one with a mix of views, and most of the folks here are reasonably pleasant. Some sections are fun, some are serious, and some (like the doggie section) are just plain barking mad.

Threads go off-topic in a ratio that is proportionally squared to the amount of ego and bullshit that they contain...

The "serious" dog guys are the only folks who seem to have a problem with the split - says it all in my book.

I'm all for a mutt / dawg / hound area where the rest of us can have a reasonably sane yarn, and then somewhere else for the few of you who care to go and debate breed, compos, theoretical training methodologies etc

Majority rules I guess I would enjoy threads staying on subject so you don't have to read several pages of crap to find your golden nugget which is wat we also appear to be talkin about
