TeRei unfortunately the old timers who tell you things like that, forget to mention how many times the bullet didn't hit the exact spot required to kill a deer with a 22 short and a deer ran away...

Now I cant really agree with that one. I take as much usable meat as possible off any animal I shoot. I consider that my obligation as a responsible hunter. Those front shoulders can make a great...

I assume that 140gn is in 7mm calibre. All good results. Personally I'll accept a bit of damaged meat vs an animal runs and is lost any day.

the archers paradox is USUALLY the way an arrow starts off kinked and flys in a wobbly fashion to its target. the string forces arrow to be off to one side on an old traditional bow...not so much...

Dropped a deer 20 mins up the Te Iringa track not long ago, so yeah they are about. I think the AK lock down will have had an impact on deer behaviour and numbers over the central NI with a lot of...

Yes it will do everything you need it to from 0 - 500 if suitably scoped and drop chart sorted. Recoil is a step up if you've been used to a 6.5cm, 243 etc but completely manageable, no dramas at all...

That looks like it did in the bad old days in Sussex / Surrey on the dairy farms, before myxomatosis struck. What cartridge did you shoot them with?
