Have t3x .308 16", Asked same question to my gunsmith. Doesn't need full bedding job only pillar bedding. Torque action screws to 43 inch pounds if you have a small torque wrench.

Drop tube is the way to go. I use 49 grains 2206H in my .308 16" Tikka with 125 gr Nosler Accubonds. You need to trickle powder in slowly and it stacks well in case so you should se the level lower...
