yep I have two of the 6-24 x 50. glass is excellent, better in my opinion than the older HD 5 and on par with the even older MC's that were made by Meopta! Glass is better than Vortex PST...

As long as you get the rifle setup properly for most hunting applications side focus is unnessacary. Get the 2-10 vx5. I have the 3-15 on my 284 but if I did it again I'd likely just go the 2-10

get another quality 3-15 or the VX6 2-12x42 are bloody awesome. But very hard to come by 2nd hand.... 'cos people hang on to them for a good reason. Another option for your 284 would be a good...

I'm really impressed with my 2-10 vx5, was going to get another 3-15 but now run 3-15 on my 27 nosler and the 2-10 on my 270wsm

While the VX3i is a good scope ( reasonably good glass & nice & light ) the VX5 is a step above ( good usable zoom range 3-15, good reticle choices, great zero stop turret, great glass & eye piece )...
