Mepps Black Fury are magic, I've had great success on yellow & black. Work better in river than lake edge is what I found. Go Dundee...:thumbsup:

Another vote for the 165gr SST. Superb bullet out of a 308 at moderate 2,500-2650 velocities. Or if you can get them 165gr Nosler Partitions - another superb bullet.

.22LR goes well out of a very short barrel. An overall minimum legal length rifle is still quite a small package if you want to go down the barrel chopping route rather than buying a takedown rifle.
