To get an A1 or S491 PPC repeater with standard weight Hunter barrel will be a rare find, they do exist but usually in the hands of Sako nuts that won't part easily. The odd Target / Varmint model...

257R is a very capable cartridge for NZ, but you need to be a reloader that's for sure. I shot all my best animals of a 15+ year period with mine and only sold it on as I got hooked on 6.5mm stories...
