I’ve got a holosun 403r on a single shot 308, was about $480 and it’s proving bloody awesome. Gun gets broken down and reassembled and travels a lot. No issue with holding zero so far and a pleasure...

I use a couple of Vortex Crossfire II 2 MOA which are excellent and cost me under $300 at the time from Bronco Sport Tauranga. Highly recommend them if you want something good but not at $800+

I've got a bunch of cheap and nasty red dots sitting in a cupboard, doubt they will ever go on any of my rifles again. Cheap ones are more or less only good for airport and don't really handle recoil...

Check out the Ashburton & Districts Rifle Club that shoots (most) Sunday afternoons in Ashburton. There's generally a mix of TR FTR F-Open & FPR shooters present.

Competitive F-open guys would definitely want better than 1/2 MOA. For F-PR I would want an honest 1/2 MOA at a minimum, the smaller you can get the better obviously. If you are finding that wind...

PRS with it's associated class limits is always going to lower your stability ( shot to shot repeatability over sustained strings). Even with a high BC cartridge/projectile combo....maybe .3 is your...

Noswal liked post by Cyclops On thread : Accuracy targets when developing loads for F-class
The X ring is about 0.5 MOA so would be 5 inches at 1000 yards (near enough). As johnd said that accuracy would get you a 60.10 (perfect score) at 1000 yards. Probably good enough for FTR,...

Noswal liked post by johnd On thread : Accuracy targets when developing loads for F-class
5 inch group at 1000 would be a score of 60.10 (a possible) so I would think you would have to have that and less as your benchmark in good conditions. If your home range is Trentham not so much...

Same game, but a little different. Most notable is that I'm not allowed to go alone and what animal I can shoot is strictly controlled. Would have prefered to do it in NZ, but 33 hours flight makes...
