What you don't have in velocity, it's better to make up for in bore size and weight. Unless you can reload specialist projectiles, get a big cal.

I thought with subs size was key as you cannot rely on shock. Having seen 308 and 300blks struggle on game I would personally stick with 35-40cal if I wanted gun to shoot subs.
