That's probably not what they mean by goose shooting. You're never going to shoot a decent number stalking them or chasing them in a boat and unloading a single magazine in their direction...

But yeah you usually need a permit to hunt on public land. They're free and easy to get. Depending on where you either get it from DoC or Fish and Game.

Any of the fur and antler chasers around here seen large numbers of ducks/geese/pigeons around Canterbury on farm paddocks etc while out and about?
