That's probably not what they mean by goose shooting. You're never going to shoot a decent number stalking them or chasing them in a boat and unloading a single magazine in their direction...
I like 36-40 g lead 2s on geese but anything near about will work, especially when they're close or you're smoking them in the head/neck region.
What we shot would have been max 1/4 of what we...
But yeah you usually need a permit to hunt on public land. They're free and easy to get. Depending on where you either get it from DoC or Fish and Game.
No season no limit for Canada geese, has been that way for a while now
Yeah heaps around. Think of how much grass all those suckers would have been eating every day.
I do eat them but this was the third hunt this month so the freezer was already pretty full and...
252 geese on the deck for 5 shooters yesterday. Won't be topping that tally for a while. 422 geese down this month, has been unreal hunting.
I'm also interested in these answers!
They sound like fun - hope I can tick them off the list one day
Tried it in the weekend, can confirm this is just a safety.
Nice. Love a good goose shoot.
Talking geese specifically? Gotta be 200 m from water on agricultural paddocks for summer duck season.
Might be a bit of a haul getting goose decoys into some areas.
Interesting! So it's just a safety? Good to know - cheers
Any of the fur and antler chasers around here seen large numbers of ducks/geese/pigeons around Canterbury on farm paddocks etc while out and about?
Going to be heading out for a scout soon but if...
Unsure but when you turn it on a closed bolt it seems to lock it shut
One of these other knowledgeable fellas will probably know more
Thanks for the responses all. I had a look at the bolt handle and it does indeed have F and S on it (pictured below).
I'll keep the advice about the magazine in mind although I wasn't planning on...
I'm trying to identify my Krico if anyone has any ideas...

I'll give that a go, cheers.
Hi all,
I've just renewed my licence which means I need to register my firearms.
Most have gone smoothly but I don't know what model my Krico is. Google hasn't been too much help.
Photos...
Damn that's cheap, shame I've recently stocked up.
You've got some decoys aye? Can borrow some of mine if not, I won't be using them this weekend.
Hey mate.
I'd just go in the morning, spook them off and set up some decoys and the blind then stay all day.
Can't reverse the clock if you muck up the timing but if you're there all day you're...
Yeah I'd email or call F&G
I'm definitely keen. Shoot with a group of 6-8 us, all have layout blinds and heaps of decoys.
Yeah a picture might help if I end up going down that road, thanks.
