All of my rifles shoot different POI when they are freshly cleaned and not fouled, some worse than others.
Once i have a load sorted for one of my given hunting rifles, i dont clean the bore at...
Being its important to be able to spot your own shots, IMO a 162 ELDM at a slower MV will probably be ideal. Its an awesome killer & most importantly is still very effective at very low speeds. If...
In my case i never intended to run 162s through mine, it just sorta happened. Had some laying around messed around in GRT and decided to give it a nudge for a laugh. Worked better than expected so...
My Sako A7 7-08 is a 14.5 Inch 9.5 twist barrel and it stabilises the 162 ELDM just fine at around 2500fps. Stacks them into sub moa groups & i have used it out to around 400y on deer.
Superformance is my go to for 7mm08 with the 162 eldm, i run them at 2.180 BTO measurement. Can get some pretty impressive performance speed wise from the small 08 case & i found accuracy over a...
I have found the 162gr ELDM accurate and a great killer, shooting it at slower 7mm08 speeds. Not sure how good it would be up close at rem mag speeds but if most of your shooting is further out, you...
I have also done a comparison test with WRE vs FED210m. 6.5 Creedmoor & 7mm-08. Loaded up some of my go to loads in both rifles that i usually use FED210m in and found no measurable difference in...
Same here, ive lost count of how many deer i have shot with the 143 ELDX, its a great killer up close and out far. Found them really easy to get them to shoot in all the rifles i have used them in...
I have the hunter version (not vertical grip) on one of my 6.5 creedmoors. Just took it out of the box and dropped the action in it, shoots the same as it did in the factory stock.
Got a load sorted for it. R-P Brass, WRE Primer, Hornady 55gr SP #2266b. 25.5gr of LVR. 3050fps & consistent .6 moa groups. Went to 26.6gr & 3150fps but wasnt as accurate & couldnt be bothered...
I pulled it because at the time i couldnt get any brass, adg wasnt available yet and i didnt feel like shooting 60 odd rounds of factory ammo for the hell of it just to get the brass so i pulled it,...
Factory ammo seems fairly inconsistent, Mine is a 22", havent tried hornady match but have shot precision hunter (175 eldx) through it, speed all over the show, anywhere from low 2800s to almost 3k,...
Going to have a fair bit of muzzle flash at night time regardless of the combination you use to be fair, unless you sacrificed even more speed and went to a powder with a really fast burn rate but i...
One would have to imagine the more powder thats being burnt in the supressor/post muzzle, the harder its going to be on the baffles in the supressor.
I never tried anything lighter in my 300wm but with the 200gr ELDX i was loading 76gr of 2217 in hornady brass with a fed215 for 2900fps, 24" barrel.
Thats a bit of an old wives tale really & if anything the opposite is true, the fastest velocity will always be achieved by compressing the slowest burning powder you can fit into a given cartridge....
Makes sense, at only just over 500 grams for a synthetic stock its incredibly light compared to say a standard tikka stock.
Im not sure but im going to guess that mine is a earlier one than his. Serial number on mine begins with a A his begins with a J. Cant find much info online but one would assume that means mine is...
Yeah not sure but it definitely surprised me. The extra weight in my brothers seems to be mostly in the palm area, and his has alot of extra webbing in the barrel channel area that mine doesnt have....
My brother also shoots a Sako A7 in 7-08, its 15" with a DPT and we were trying to work out why his was a couple hundred grams heavier than mine. Pulled them both apart and turns out theres at least...
Some real nice rifles posted, few of them a fair bit lighter than mine. Was interested to see how light some have managed to get them.
Heres mine. Sako A7 in 7-08, 14.5 inch barrel, Atec front...
Theres your main issue there.
GRT suggests if your at 2925fps currently with a 18" bbl, cutting it to 16" will slow it down ALOT, somewhere in the vicinity of 2800-2815 depending on what powder your using, one would assume/hope...
Thats nice. How fast are the 162s goin?
