    Nikon - Prostaff 3/9/40

This May have been asked in the past - however Ive been looking at putting a scope on the Tikka T3 suppressed .243 - I was thinking Leupold or Redfeild etc but been pointed in the direction of a Nikon Prostaff 3-9-40 and have been told they are great value for money and fantastic optics.

As I know F/all about scopes ......Does anyone use this brand and or scope itself ? Are they any good ?

I see from my Google research they are made in the Philippines by the same Nikon camera brand & I know Nikon make good cameras -

Any feed back / Advise is welcome

    Cheers

I've got a Suppressed Tikka T2 243 and its got a Leupold VX-1 on it .. its a great wee scope, and does all I need in any weather

Piece of advice : go for a brand of scope that ha a good name and a reputation for doing the right thing by their customers.
... You will pay more in the short term , but LESS in the long term ...and of course save yourself getting and

    Hey Roy

I can't speak about the prostaff but I have 2 Nikon Monarchs, 1 on my .223 and 1 on my 7mmRM, awesome scopes especially for the money, dial repeatably and good positive clicks.
The glass is awesome, obviously not $2k scope good but up there with $1k scopes.

I have dialled out to 600m so far and has been bang on using the Nikon Spot-on ballistics app, First round V hits at NRA shoots, it has never shifted zero through about 300 rounds of 7mmRM.

    Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them!

The standard turrets dial just fine and reset to zero, the only advantage of the target turrets is height. I prefer mine low!

    I'll get a pic.

3-9x40 Nikon Prostaff for 210 NZD delivered from the states. Amazing scope for the price you simply will not beat it and they come with a life time warranty. The newer VX-1s are pretty sharp though and are almost comparable to older VX-II and VX-III scopes. Really they are both the same difference, both scopes use glass made by Nikon, same mags, same FOV, same light transmission. Personally I wouldn't pay twice what I had to for what is virtually the same product but that's my choice.
