I also don’t like the thought of something going wrong with the rangefinder function on a combo unit and you end up with no rangefinder and no binos while issue is sorted. Hunters don’t need 9 million yard latest and greatest rangefinder technology every 12 months
I beg to differ, I do!

I had some swaro el range binos, they were great, but I’ve gone back to swaro 10x25’s and a Leica rangefinder, no desire to go back.

They would be more reliable than anything made by vortex.

Definitely not bagging on the Sigs bud I have heard good things. Considered a pair myself when I was looking. I just don't like Chinese made optics or gear. I'm very happy with my Steiners great binos for the price.
I agree I wouldn't touch Vortex as a company, considering they pulled out of the New Zealand Market. One would think that repairs would now have to be sent across the ditch.

The reality is for the money and what I need them to achieve they are really the only option for my requirements.
I willbe selling them when I can get my mits on the 10k model as having the way point function will be awesome forwhen your trying to find a shot animal on big scrubby faces on last light.
    Who doesn't want that function?
Chinese made but obviously supervised by somebody that cares.

You mean like literally everything else you buy in day to day life? Cars, TVs, phones, computers etc etc. Why cut myself short in the area I am most passionate. There’s a shitload of stuff modern hunters use that we don’t “need”. Boring excuse to not have cool things lol.

Vortex warranty exchange or repairs is still done from the Auckland warehouse and sales / support are still strong in the New Zealand market.
