Was that a 101 that went recently on trade me. Man that was a purdy gun, in 6.5x55 too....

Beautifull rifle Toby. Way to pretty for bush bashing, but if it really tickles your fancy, do it. You only live once, and you can't take $'s with you...

Don't forget that Those nice wooden European rifle are mostly used for European type of hunting.
Where you stalk or move to your shooting post with the rifle in its soft (leather,sometime:-) case or bag.

Once the hunting action is finished ,it is back in the bag .
And often on a driven shooting, you are not even going after the game that you might have wooded; it is the role of the tracker with his short barrel plastic stock blaser and his dogs to find the wooded game, and sometime into some thick blueberry bush! These rifle definitely get trashed!

No it hasn't made it on trademe yet. They are amazing rifles. Once you feel the smooth piston like action, you will never ever look at anything the same.

If you want it get it.
But if you are a bush hobbit its goanna get knocked around a bit.
I have a fetish for wooden stocks but cringe every time I knock it as I use and abuse mine.
I like to think that I move like a panther in the bush ,but reality is I are like a big bull elephant crashing thru the trees using my rifle as a walking stick come slasher.

I am a Sako guy through and through but that 7x64 looks great - in fact too nice to hunt with.

    Keep the Sako.

Buy the Mauser and hunt like a boss!

Love it when they say 'selling to buy a house'. Firstly it doesn't make me sympathize with you and want to pay your asking price and secondly $2100 ain't going to get you a house.

But y0u could if you ate (or swallowed with out chewing) $100 bills first....
All those with dogs waiting no longer fear death. Those with many dogs waiting even welcome it in it's time.

So you came on here looking for a nice wood/blue 7x57 and you ended up with a plastic 308?!!? Because of what? Re-sale value? At least you're a realist...
