I suppose if you could get the scope off if you boiled the action and electrolysis the action you could have a wall hanger with a story

Around 30 years ago a fella list a rifle around the Mt Cedric area of Rotoroa, had glassed his first chamois and took off to stalk it leaving his rifle behind. His initials were DM

Bit more than 30 years ago I think if it’s the DM I’m know of.

Another found rifle. Just a few months ago. Stainless shortened (Tikka??) with pic rail and red dot. Obviously not tied on well enough to someone's raft.

Yeah, be neat - or encase in a resin block.

We found a .22 leaning against a tree up the whakatane River a few yrs ago.It had been there for years.

20 yrs ago a not so on it farm manager was presented with his disced up rifle by the tractor driver.

Could be closer to 35 yrs ago, he was a fit bugger. He did a day Walk from Coldwater hut up to hopeless hut then climbed both hopeless and Angelus peaks and out again the same day

Considering how smashed it is (trigger guard and recoil pad appear gone/broken), I suspect it's washed up there after being lost overboard.
