    Here’s mine. Have found it a great little bike. Takes a reasonable load and is light enough to lift over and walk through bogs which you can just pull throttle as your walking beside it. Frame hinges in the centre so you could pop it in the boot of a car if needed. I mainly use it in the whanganui. Next step is to mount a rifle holder on it. Cost me a little over 2k

    A fat ebike would be the goer I reckon.
    Possibly quite spendy though

    Guys, can someone explain to me what the difference is between getting a higher W motor compared to a higher amp-hour battery.

    Is see the guys selling these in NZ offer all sorts of combos: lower W motors with bigger batteries etc.

    I have been involved in a SAR callout in the St James last summer guy go lost, missed track turning twice and ended up back at Scotties hut with a flat battery in the dark and no lights. He would have been in for a cold night without us.

    Amp hour is how long the battery is going to last, bigger the better.

    Engine w is the amount of power it can deliver e.g heavy loads and steep hills need more power..

    Or something like that.

    Ta, one of the UK vids I watched looked like above 250W they wanted you to register it.

    I see the NZ kits are 250, 500, 750, 1000W.

    When we are released from Covid jail I'm keen to try find one to rent in Welly and see what the hype is about.

    I like look of that cherokee Chief - fat tyres etc and latest model has solid spoke wheels which would be stronger for uneven terrain. $2.5k last price but not in stock now - seems only Smartpower in Motueka talking about them?. E-bike prices risen alot in last 2-3 years - but that could easily be higher levels of tech development.

    Thought it might be the reverse. Key thing on uneven ground, travelling over big stations would be good suspension, running the bigger fatboy tyres, and running them a little soft as we do in offroad 4wding. Makes life alot easier.

    Good suspension, suspension stem on seat if you want, bigger tyres, but don't run them soft. Soft they're harder to drive, chew battery, risk punctures from pinching between rim and rock. You're not doing 90mph. In rough going you'll be taking it real slow. 40 lb min in the tires or check manufacturers recommendation.
    I know a lot but it seems less every day...

    Due to the exorbitant cost of reloading components, warning shots will not be given.
