    Someone mentioned gumboots, actually the laced ones are really good if you ate not going into the snow, they make less noise when you step...

    Will keep on with the hubberds for a bit and see if the leakage improves for a bit yet.
    I realise water can get in thru big top hole in gaiters down trouser leg tho I don't tend to go very deep into rivers\ creeks( gaiters are just below the knee) and have discounted those days when I do get wet jewels .
