You can use a fast pistol or shotgun powder.
Work up like you would a normal load until you get a sharpish well formed shoulder.
It will not be perfect like using a projectile but it will be well on its way.

I just use a 1 x 1 cleaning patch and flare my necks a bit so when chambered the base of the round is hard into the bolt face.
I have formed .260 and .280 improved cases this way with good results.
I only use my Ackley for hunting and the odd bit of LR practice. For all the mucking around and how few rounds I actually fire thru this barrel I may go to forming with projectiles. At least use them in the bush and medium range game as they are accurate enough.

If I was shooting a lot with an Ackley I would always form without projectiles.

Yup forgot to mention that you can form brass into a heap of rags in town even, as long as you don't set them alight.
Certainly quiet enough if you have enough stuff to muffle the blast😆

Yea just don't poke the barrel out the bottom of the bag as it will wake the neighbours.
