Should have gone for the 190's although a standard Rem Mag's twist rate would not cope.

Considering the 7PRC being specced with a 1:8" barrel, hopefully Hornady has resolved the issue of the 180 ELDM blowing up mid-air.

The prospect of a 7mm08 running 180 ELDM's at 3" COAL has been tempting. But so far the only rifle that has been able to allow this 'out of the box' is the Barrett Fieldcraft. Hopefully the Nioa can be convinced to restart production at some point!

People will say Tikka T3x, but the factory twist rate is pathetic... hopefully they get their act together and standardise on 1-8" for 7mm's. Not like Hornady designed the 7PRC COAL to fit in the T3 or anything...

Correct factory twist rate probably wouldn't handle it. I too have been hesitant about using 180gn ELDM's for the same reason.
If I was going to re barrel I would probably go down the 7 PRC route as well, but see no real appreciable gain in it for me with what is pretty much a new rem mag barrel, plus I have everything for the rem mag already.

Danny, have you tried the 175 ELDx in your 7 mag?

no, I think If I decide to change projectiles I will probably go for a 162gn ELD either X or M, been proven to be a solid performer in the 7 mm rem mag for years and very stable with the factory twist rate.
