Not sure as I'm stuck at home due to wife having Wuflu, depends on what block I guess. I know the skifield just put out today that its chains on 4wd only today from branch creek which is about 930m, they had 220mm of fresh snow yesterday at the skifield.

I was in the Molesworth weekend before last and snow level was around 1250m. As Happy Jack says, they've had some more overnight, but doesn't look like it's to lower levels and forecast is looking good for the weekend. Most of the animals seen were around the 900-1000m mark. Pack your thermals!

    That's what snowshoes are for
You will have the place to yourself
Used to go snowshoe hare hunting with my dog before climate change means we don't get decent snow on BP any more

Sadly I cannot just wander over the paddocks even though I know the farmer as he has them full of deer and sheep

    Great photos Happy Jack.
I'd imagine Island saddle would be very tricky... verging on dangerous if you're heading into the backblocks.
