    Waiau Hanmer Road/ Island Pass

Hi all, just wondering what the above Road is like at present heading from Hanmer to Rainbow Station? Is it navigable? Any winter rain issues?
Also hunting Catcreek Molesworth block in not too distant future and any help navigation/ advice/ access wise would be much appreciated. Please private message me if preferable.
    Thanks

Its closed at this time of year.

but worse than that its a wash out.

The station posted on their facebook page that it was washed out with a very dangerous drop-off at Dip Flat. https://www.facebook.com/rainbowstat...19517898457649

    Google Rainbowstation.co.nz for their contact.

    "RAINBOW ROAD IS CLOSED
It's that time of year folks! The Rainbow road is officially closed from 6pm tonight 5/4/21. We hope you had a chance to get through and view the property during the open season, if not, come and see us next summer. "

A question for you guys we are travelling thorough the Rainbow in March.
We do the motel/relatives one night camp the next, really roughing it.
Have been to Lake Tennyson in the past but not thorough to St Arnaud.
Which of the campsites/huts would you recommend we are happy to tent if needed in fact prefer it.
The DOC and Rainbow Station sites do not tell you too much.
Want to drive to hut/campsite as do not like to leave my old cruiser on its own.
    Thanks Owen

Island Gully or Conners Creek would be my pick depending on how far you want to travel in a day.
