My family used to breed Rabbits commercially up until the first virus release. We slaughtered up to 600 a month, mostly for the pelts but the meat bought in good $$$ too, we only sold domestically but it went to several top end restaurants as well as local supermarkets. We had a good feed of them once or twice a month as well, the liver and hearts make a fantastic Pate.
The virus release wiped out over half of our animals in a two month period. We destroyed the rest not long after as we couldn't sell the meat due to the publicity of the virus.
Mmm, I'm feeling hungry now...
That sucks. A virus that ruined a good buisness.
Sort of like 1080 ruined ground based meat hunting.
