Thread: Advice re P14

My old mate has a P14 .303
Rough barrel, no sights but scope rail fitted.
He asked me about what to do (rebarrel it, etc).
I thought it not worth doing anything. "Put the $$ into a modern rifle" I said...but am I wrong?
Don't want to give him wrong advice, so figured you folks would know what's best.

You are right. He could get a good new rifle for the cost of rebarreling the P14. If the serial number of it begins with a W then it is a Winchester and the action has some value to a custom rifle builder. If it is an Eddystone (ERA) then it is not worth persevering with.

Could've been interested in bits for mine but run out if time before registration although I suspect I might have to kick mine off way quicker than I would have liked
