Yes it has been abit of an overload of information going into store, and they seem to want to sell the crap thats been sitting awhile, which sometimes is still good, its just alot of pressure while processing info and then them trying to change what i had in mind. This forum is great info and less pressure of the sale lol
@yaba (not sure this works)
There's also this, heard a lot of good about Rem 700's

You can not go wrong with a Ruger. I own 2 and always will.
Rifle choice is subjective, everyone rates Tikkas but the ones I have shot and handled simple do not suit me, so I bought something that feels and handles right for me instead. I haven't been disappointed in any way shape or form over my decision.
Happy Jack.
Tikka 270. Mine shoots most things into tiny groups. My current set up is the potent 145 Eldx and 130 federal fusions into the same ragged hole. It is the point and shoot, out to 350 set up. No twiddling dials. They work. 150 grainers are good stag medicine in a bonded bullet like an oryx or fusion. Good luck mate, keep us posted on how you get on.
Another vote for Tikka, love the ones Ive had. Plain Jane has its advantages - super easy to buy accessories for as they are common. Very reliable, no problems or point of impact shifts using bipods, tripods etc which is a big one for me. I have one in 300wsm and 6.5 creedmoor. 300wsm is a bit overkill for most and a lot more recoil than the 6.5 so wouldn’t recommend in that regard. 6.5 creed is awesome. Bowled many a stag and hind with the precision hunter 143 eldx at various ranges, never lost one yet with that rifle. Nice reliable, accurate cartridge with good factory options. Realistically all the calibres like 243, 6.5 creed, 25-06, 6.5x55, 308, 7mm08, 270 all work great and I wouldn’t get hung up on calibre too much. Some have better ammo availability than others though. Just throw a few more posts/comments on this thread and you should be able to see the buy sell.
