New 7x57R barrel set for my fair double rifle, plus rail, rings and pad.
If it wasn't -29deg, here in Alberta, I would go and sight in the scope.

Nick. That sure is nice and light. That’d be a very handy rifle. I like it!

Hope you have something huge to put it on: either you have a tiny arm.....or it’s absolutely humongous...

They are a massive scope, but the premier 5-25 heritage series, which this replaces, is probably the best scope I’ve shot long range with

This whole setup costed me exactly $1000 including the rings so pretty happy with that.
Not a super lightweight, but beautifully balanced and easy to handle.
Very keen to try it out on the open tops in the Kaimanawa.

Nice! One of the original Otago Mounted Rifles issue. They got them way before the regular NZ Army did.

    Synthetic,

That’s one of the Classic series Remington made in the 80s. Really good stock design and well made.

The scope is quality. A steal at 1K!

A humble K31 to replace the SG 550 that was confiscated. According to Wiki the serial number indicates it being made of walnut. Opened the stock, there was no ownership detail unfortunately.

Nothing new about this ole rifle ,one of first Ruger M77s .243 bought must have been 1979-80, been sitting neglected in the safe for many years, but had a lot of use in the day.
I remember it suddenly started spraying shots all over the place like 3 or 4 inches at a hundred yds so stopped using it.
Recently i pulled it out wondering what to do with it, gave the bore a bloody good scrub and thought the bore doesnt look toooo!!! bad haha, and so wondered if the crown had been damaged.
I had an inch cut off the barrel and re crowned and using some Federal blue box 100gr ammo i was very pleased to see a group of around 1.5 inches at hundred mtrs, certainly good enough for point and shoot hunting. Scope is a similar vintage Leupold vari x II 2-7 .
So now i am keen to take the ole girl out and bag a deer with her. Cheers
