I have this exact issue with a VX5HD, and also the elevation turret doesn't click like it use too.
Leupold arent made in the USA anymore they are just assembled with a combination of Chinese and Japanese components. This is the last Leupold for me after I get it sent off for repair.
Had a pair of Leupold binos that I took in to H&F Ballingers for repair just recently, not a great deal of damage to them. Got a phone call two weeks later that they'd got them back so I popped in and got given a brand new pair in a box.
Happy days
Same Leupold replaced 2nd hand purchase off Trade me with updated model that was 3x the price of original purchase. Happy Chappy. I'm a Leupold influencer now
I don’t get why people rave about the warranty service, or Leupold’s in general for that matter.
I have never said ‘thank god that’s covered by warranty’ after they have let me down or ruined a trip, quite the opposite!
Id sell my VX6 if I could be bothered sending it away to have the spec removed (again), but then I wonder if I could sleep at night without feeling guilty.
Well I only have bottom teir Leupold...I know they will do the job asked and realistically, for the same dollars I haven't found another brand as reliable. I killed many many scopes before putting Leupolds on my rifles... Yes I sent one back after 25 years of faultless service...but it was not new when I got it and had sticky turret then....that issue went away but I guess after another twenty years without turrets being touched,it got stuck/ sticky again lol. To me they are the Toyota corolla of the optics world. I could not justify spending $3000 on a scope any more than $100,000 on vechile.
