How much did you waste on that factory Blaser then customised it by amputating the barrel and adding a muffeler?

I was going to get in a pre-emotive "and Blasers" edit but my infernet is too slow to pre-empt anything at all today

Technically mine is "Custom" cost less than a barrel for a Blaser tho I bet.

    Right back to the scope!

Is it fucked or is this just how they are?

Greg I'm with you on the SFP mate

But "don't use it on the end of its range" I mean really hahaha

It's a top end Nightforce lol ... "Yeah it's good as long as you don't dial up or down too much... Then you can't see thru it properly"
Most guys will never use it at the top or bottom, it has 120+ moa elevation.

That's enough to shoot a fair old way

Someone spending that kind of money on a scope would surely be doing it because they want and intend to use all of that el adjustment?

Is there any issue getting it replaced/repaired/evaluated by Nightforce under warranty? At that price you would think the warranty would be pretty extensive.

I'll help you out if you need and sell your mate my S&B for $7000.....

I'd at least ask NF if it's normal before chucking it in the bin

Are you evaluating for an article, if so I'd get them to send you another, but keep that one so a comparison can be made.
If N/F advertise 120moa then there should be 120 usable moa.

    Na I'm not reviewing this.

I'm getting 80 MOA before I clearly see the black ring creeping into view.

I tried FFP, sodding joke. FFP (IMHO) is a purely long range optic solution, no good up close even with 'sensible' reticle design whatever that is (unless you are shooting to incapacitate a man-size target or immobilise a chunk of machinery). If you are using it for hunting type situations, and an up-close shot pops up that requires accuracy (such as parking a round amongst some foliage or other obstruction) it's very much a spray/pray proposition which defeats the point of spending all that cash on a precision solution.

The scope I tried wasn't cheap, had one of those fancy 'sensible' reticles - but that damn thing would cover about 75mm of the target up close on the smallest magnification (5x from memory) - on the highest mag forget it. I'm not bagging a scope brand so I won't name it as it was in every other respect perfect. I would have been happy to have it in SFP except I couldn't get one... If you are sending it or using it for non-lethal applications, great...
I'm sorry, are you complaining about a FFP reticle covering TOO MUCH of the target at close range on low power?

It shrinks the view, but is it still accurate and usable?
There are only three types of people in this world. Those that can count, and those that can't!
