More winter hunting, birds & rifle

Just something different. Short film as the cold killed off the batteries pretty quick

Nice shooting considering the conditions. What's the best way to cook the birds, roasting or casserole or any other way you may do them?

Meh, the real cold starts at -22 to -25 and it turns brutal below -30 (can't breathe too deep, uncomfortable).

I don't know the "best" way, but you definitively need to keep them rare. I give them a quick fry in oil with spices and put them in the oven whilst making the vegetables. It should be almost raw in the center.

After they have been browned / coloured in the pan, have you tried putting them in an oven bag rather than just on a dish ?

No I haven't. But now that you have mentioned it, I will try it tomorrow. Makes sense!

    Tried it, was excellent.

Marinate in salt, pepper and oil.
Quick fry (less than 1 minute) high heat.
Into oven bag and another 7-8 minutes there.

Result was incredibly juicy and soft. Like eating a meat-peach.

They can be terrible. To the point where I am considering getting a Swaro 15x56 bino despite narrow field of view.
