We can get these ACR ResQLink 400 in Norway too.
Havenīt heard about it until now. Not widely used...
Over here we'll have to apply to buy one, and there is an annual fee. about 85NZD.

My question is, if I get one, can I bring it along and use it in NZ...? will I need to pay some sort of fee to do that?

Yes it will work, 406 beacons have world wide coverage.
No there is no fee while in New Zealand.

If flying I would check in with the various carriers as they have some special rules.
Last time I flew domestically with one it had to be in cabin baggage and was at pilots discretion.
Issues around, lithium battery, and possible transmitting signal inside aircraft etc.

Crazy that you have to apply to get one in Norway and pay every year.
2025 survey just out by the NZMSC (Mountain Safety Council) on communication in the hills over 70% of respondents carried one.
I get that some one has to pay the government cost for the monitoring and coordinate centre.

I think the RCC in Wellington is mostly funded by Govt with contributions from levies on commercial vessels and commercial aircraft - but would have to check on that...
