I recently got one in their 20% off sale, I don't think i would be happy to pay full price. It's very comfortable, light, the fabric feels nice and it breathes well. I like the idea of a detachable hood even though i will probably never take it off. It looks quite tidy. I haven't been in real cold conditions yet but so far it seems to keep me toasty. In very cold conditions I'll probably want a light jersey underneath.

I haven't got any other good jackets to compare it to but if I was paying full price the cactus norbu would be worth comparing it to.

Thought I'd provide an update on my jacket quest.

I ended up finding an all but new Stoney Creek Primaloft jacket (pic below) in amongst my dads collection, which happened to be the jacket I was trying to replace. Its been a great hard wearing jacket, so its now hanging up with my gear, and pity they discontinued it years ago.

Also, I came across the Snugpac Sleeka Elite WGTE (link below). Has anyone had any experience with these jackets or Snugpak in general? The closet distributor I can find is in Oz.

I've got a Wear on Earth primaloft jacket that I've hardly used as its too big for me if you are interested.
Otherwise I am currently using a macpack primaloft jacket. I buy them when they come on special. Good light weight jacket to use as part of your layering system

Mines from my time in the army. You’ll find them for sale on marketplace every now and then or jump on the military kit collectors pages and ask, someone will have some

Pricey yes, but great to support local as they're 100% NZ made.
The only midlayer I use really is the Earth Sea Sky Alpha, especially for winter... It's a top tier jacket. Hard wearing, warm, comfortable. If you damage it they'll repair it. Highly recommend. (from someone who is obsessed with clothing options for backcountry hunting )

That looks very good, I just can't get over their pricing...
