What I love about your posts is you unconsciously backup your thoughts and observations about knife technology , advancement of steels and just plain old likes with action shots of the knife in question in work mode .
I don't have any of the knives you own but I truly look on with an interest to learn and advance my knife knowledge when you post.
Great stuff

FALL IN LOVE WITH THE NUMBERS , NOT THE IDEA
Never really been a fan of the scandi grind, I do have a frost, but I actually dug it out of the garden...and that's where it gets used, to dig out weeds.
Just a couple that are more for my own historical curiosity, a Cold Steel brand Dirk and a Von Tempsky Bowie by Svord. Svord concedes that this is their interpretation of the bowie and not 100% historically correct, I personally like it and it does do a bit of machete duty sometimes. Too big for anything other than hacking or thrusting and too heavy to carry around if your not a Forest Ranger using it across your forearm to parry Maori warriors patu.![]()
My new bark river, fox river elmax knife the Mrs brought me

The sheath is fine.
My advice is not to go grinding at the edge unless you chip it, which is unlikely if you treat it as a hunting knife. I use 2000 and 6000 grit water stones. The factory edge is fine, and if you make it too thin you loose the advantage of the convex grind supporting the edge.
Strop it on the rough side of leather glued to a piece of ply. You rub stropping compound onto the leather (get it from DLT or KSF in the States. I use Black (course) and white (fine) - most people use black and green - green isn't as fine as white). You can buy stropping paddles too. For in the field you can get little stiff leather strops.
Don't use a steel on it.
You have a fantastic knife there and it will give you a lifetime of pleasure.
Elmax is great, and one sharpening will do a few deer.
That's one at the top:
And embarrassingly, here's another with a blue CTec handle.
Treat your wife well too, she's a gem. They mostly are.![]()

The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds
I add a like for your mrs

Nice knife but sheath looks in need of an upgrade...
Cheers for the tips mate, yep she's pretty sharp straight out of the box, first thing next year ill be buying some leather stops and compound, I don't mind the sheath it holds the knife nice and tight at the moment.
This is a Buck Master 184, survival knife.
The Buck-184 Buckmaster - The peak of survival knives!
I bought it in a mall in 1996 when working overseas, as you do...
It was just to cool not to have, needless to say its been a closet queen ever since...

Hahahaha those are for people who watch to many movies who think they can use their knife as a grappling hook. another name is Buck POS.
Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.
Yip, i think oneshot is correct, they could also be of use during a dual with a sword!
They do unscrew so you dont look to tactical with them, haha...
Its solid, if you like fishing no need for a boat anchor.
If you were strong enough to throw it the energy behind it would kill an army.

So just to get my head around this......In tactical theory you would unscrew them and store them in some type of tactical pouch until you had a use for them?
"Hunting and fishing" fucking over licenced firearms owners since ages ago.
308Win One chambering to rule them all.
