    Spotlight recommendation (boating)

I need a spotlight for the boat when navigating back through the harbour at night. In addition to hazards like ropes and buoys, some of the locals think it's fine to anchor up in a shipping channel with no lights!

Looking for a handheld spotlight with an integrated battery and obviously has to be weatherproof. Not keen on built-in rechargeable batteries, but that seems to be the way most of them are going.

Obviously needs good range and beam width.

    Cheers.

Might be best to get a Stedi driving spotlight and mount it on a swivel mount or something?

I did think about a mounted light, but needs to be more flexible re: looking around for ropes etc on the surface. Probably need both!

Then a handheld lightforce spot light is as good as you'll get for if you want a 12v plug in option.
Or anyone one of the excellent compact LED spotlights available these days and carry spare 18650 (or what ever it eats) batteries, they last for ages.
I don't miss lugging around a 12v sealed lead acid battery for spotlighting possums these days!

Maybe talk to Jacob from Piercing the Darkness, he'll be the best man to find a model of LED spotlight to suit your needs and good prices too.
