Bismuth uses same wads as lead??? If so it won't be expensive to make. I've only got a whackamole loader for 410 but I could reload them with less than that. Nail to pop out used primer. Place new primer on flat surface and push case down onto it. Powder goes in.wad pushed down on top.carefully insert was, push down firmly.add shot, add card or two to bring up to height...a few larger shot size pellets helps this too. And finish by refolding crimp.or glue/ nail varnish card into place. No good in repeater but a break open gun will let you get away with lots.

Will double check the book, still haven't reloaded any, still working through the reserve of factory.

But tentative yes, it swaps almost like for like with minor adjustments for the relative density.

@$86 per kg from Gunworks, that works out at about the same price per shell (for the shot component) as factory solids (which come in a pack of 5).

Yeah I got nice reply from target products this morning..seems bismuth is available at that price( gunworks probably got it from them as the steel around awhile back was) either way it's great we have the option to reload. I shall look into it promptly.

    For reference MD
Thats 1/2 the cost or less than if it were TSS.
TSS via US is 200ish US + Freight
Or via AliExpress if they have it is approx $160 per KG + Shipping

Look forward to seeing how you get on...that tss sounds like magic fairy dust..just got to be good. Happy days ahead, that passing pheasant/ mallard drake has given a glimpse of silver lining on other side of gloomy clouds.

hi guys , have been shooting at ducks for 3yrs now with tss in the 410 . two new shoulders were the main reason.. its good shit , but a bit pricey to say the least.
got tss #9 from aliexpress , TPS wads ( critical ) from uk via usa . and do a Duplex load into Win hs 3" shells #4 steel on top. Bullet225 duck smasher on youtub .
You have still to be able to point it in the right direction and i do a bit of clay shooting with the 410 to keep the eyes in . going to try get some #6 bismuth and try a few loads for cost / effectiveness . good luck .

Bismuth in size #4 available from gunworks.they have red Winchester wads too.listed as half Oz.... But they work with 3/4 too ,the extra 1/4oz sits on top...didn't matter for lead,so assumable won't for bismuth either.if it's as soft as said to be it shouldn't scour barrel.

I’ve had great success with this shot from Amanda in the 9.3x75 brass, cork wads and 296 with an overshot card and pva Also tried 3/4 oz in 3 inch win plastic with the WAA41 clone wads. Didn’t notice any difference from my lead loads.

The blame for my 410 addiction sits squarely with wingman…….

Well a kg of bismuth will fit in coffee cup!!! $85 poorer I am. Out with old whackamole and three each of 3"-2 1/2" made up... The slight difference between lead and lighter bismuth means I just used my 3/4 &1/2oz shot scoops. Seems to be pretty good although a thin overshot card will be made for next lot...it's much more forgiving in crimp dept if add one( read if hamfisted and push too hard so crimp collapsed inwards) it doesn't matter so much. Tiny splash of metallic blue nail varnish on crimp for identifying the expensive loads and job done.
