    Licence finally arrived!

    Evening all,

    Im Mikey from Nelson

Ive been lurking around on here for over a year now while my licence processed and then finally arrived today!

Ive hunted with mates over the years and decided with the abundance of wild game in the area i needed to get my arse into gear and start filling my freezer.

Ill be picking the brain of you all to work out how to do things best when it comes to hunting and shooting

    Cheers

Ill be going for a .308 for easy of getting Ammo and its stopping power.
Though about 30.06 but finding rifles in my price bracket is a bit of a struggle

What flavor am i going for?? Im going to go brand new as i want something i know the history of and am a big fan of warrantys. Im in the $1800 all in price range so narrowed down to the Franchi Horizon or Ruger American Predator.

I applied September last year, Had my visit and interviews in March and had a 10 day delay in the card arriving due to my photo not being what was required.

Shit, good effort! My card arrived a couple of weeks ago, and my application was submitted Nov 2020... few days short of 18 months, so you've done well! Maybe things are improving!

    Welcome!

well thats interesting......the history of a rifle is a funny thing, some of us value the history a rifle may have had...there are quite a few .30/06 BSA OR PARKER HALE and even the odd winchester pop up for sale.... and folks on here will tell you a lot of the so called warrantees are not worth the paper they printed on.... solid and reliable is just that, solid and reliable.....
for $1800 you could buy a $5-600 scope and still pick the very choicest 2nd hand rifle and still have $$$$ left over....by all means get rifle checked over by a gun smith...if seller not happy for you to do this...walk away,or better still run.

It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
