We recently had a country wide chemical trial which was deemed "completely safe" by those with vested interests.
Fly spray was developed to kill things. Apparently early versions were based on nerve gas.
Why would you squirt it on or near something you plan to eat?
zyklon B developed by the bad mustache guys labs for use in the gas chambers in some form or another lead to Lorsban
neither are in common fly sprays
usually they are permerthren or some other synthetic pyrethren rather than an organophosphate like lorsban

Id happily use flyspray on the skin and outside but I dont like the idea of it soaking in the meat

typically for the permethrin sorts the withholding periods arnt long like organophosphate meaning they break down quickly in sun light or exposure to air

im sure we have all eaten our share when someone has sprayed fly spray when there is a fruit bowl on the kitchen bench

far better to keep away from flies using either meat safe or fly proof bags INSIDE another fly proof area..and by all means use fly spray in area around it... it might also be very good idea at night to kill off mozzies n sandflies before settling in for the evening... a quick spray into tent sure beats the nighttime buzzing n biting.
You mean like in the days of DDT?

Just trim off anything you spray is the gist of it.
