My storage is pretty good, because I realised years ago that the Police are going to do fuck all to prevent some scrote from trying to steal my stuff. It would be nice to live in a place where that wasn't the case, but here we are.

The thing that cracks me up is they want to ignore you so much they have to make an announcement about it instead of ignoring you. Funny as......

I know of at least one person who has already been hassled about the amount of ammunition he purchased, before the new system even kicks off.

I can't share particulars, but let's just say, unless they change their attitude towards what they think an "excessive" amount of ammunition is, they are going to be very busy with enquiries after the 24th.

Ok, if that's the case am I correct in assuming the harassment has come from the police?.

If the answer is yes then that obviously means 'they' are privvy to any ammunition purchases by any fal holder via a retailer and perhaps have been for some time?.

Mail order most likely. Last local over-the-counter for me was .22LR and that I think was a local recorded only as per the previous rules. While I get the issues with another new system, the potential for moving the goalposts and the other arguments that have been noted above this is a result of what happened.

From my view of it, the system got itself caught out by allowing someone to purchase a quantity of ammo lawfully and by approval for which in reality there was no lawful purpose. It uncovered a hole in the system that meant 'people' had to answer questions. At the end of this, one of the things that kills the system is if it gets too hard it will mean there aren't enough people to fund it and it will need to be continuously fed from someone else's pot. That's even more awkward. The other thing is when we have zombie half starved pest animals staggering through towns chewing roses - Predator Free 2050 has already been axed I see.

might one ask in what sense they were hassled?

as in was it just a phone call "hey what do you need 1000 rounds of 22 lr for" or squad knocking on the door wanting to seize "illegal" firearms?
