    Politics is the art of compromise, I've heard Nicole speak exactly once but if you listen carefully she is acutely aware of this and is walking a fine line to get "reasonable" outcomes for the shooting community. Some people seem to have unrealistic expectations of what any individual politician or party can achieve, it's implicit in a democracy that outcomes will usually represent a majority viewpoint.

    For those who think they heard a campaign promise (usually existing only in their own tiny little mind) that is fully achievable in a MMP system - you're in la-la land

    Well it's hard to soar like an eagle when you are surrounded by vultures.
    Whether you think she is a charlatan or not she does have our best interests at heart.
    It is just a pity that there are a bunch of gun scared pollies in there pulling a lot of strings. They are the ones we want gone.
    We have a sole proper pro firearm voice there and if she is struggling with a bunch of antis that's not her fault. We need more of her there. Lots more

    Yes. The ineffectiveness arises from the system and party mechanisms, not this particular person.

    I've known Nicole since well before she became the spokesperson for COLFO. She's from the ground up a shooter and hunter and a fair bit smarter than the average pollie. If she can't enact everything you, I and she would like to be enacted, then its not for her trying. The system can make it hard going for anyone, if it wants to make it hard for them. Which it does.

    Exactly that and ONE voice is better than none, like most campaigns for change, momentum builds gradually and especially when sooo many people are scared of guns because "the media says so"..it's a long game

    If you ever get a chance to hear her talk in person I recommend it , she is super passionate and it becomes very obvious how bigger hill she is trying to climb.
    The meeting I went to was open to anyone , it was well attended , but most of the people were however were cough cough … grey haired , I don’t know if it was just that place and time but there was not many younger ones there.
