I too have seen a few homes, including real estate listings with a SxS shotgun as a wallhanger, no idea what mods were made to them if any to make it legal, but you virtually have to destroy the thing.

Generally most people appear to be just removing the firing pins and perhaps welding plugs in the chambers which is not considered good enough as far as I can tell, see above link.
