The sale and purchase of firearms pre, during, and post duck shooting and the roar is likely to create registration spikes isn’t it?
Restraint is the better part of dignity. Don't justify getting even. Do not do unto others as they do unto you if it will cause harm.

    Nah
They sent out some stupid emails last week which might have given the impression you had an issue that needed too be dealt with

It likely kicked off a huge surge in calls
Combined with general winter colds and snuffles and a few people away from work

I've had two waits of around 40 minutes in the last week

Just put your phone on speaker and put it in your pocket.
Go to your workshop ( if you haven't got a workshop you're fucked) and do some tidying up while you wait.
When they finally answer you won't be in a bad mood because you might have cleared a surface somewhere

I got lucky, waited less than 5 minutes, spoke to a very profesional fella, took less than 3 minuted to transfer 2 rifles I sold recently. Smooth and painless.

Just completed mine, struggled with doing it on my phone. Went to local cop shop, lady helped me and noticed the difficulties and will bring it up with the system. Overall, hasn't been that difficult. That's saying something with my skills. got confirmation renewal email after interview bout 3 weeks later. Probably 2 months after they informed me licence was due for renewal. Don't think it's as bad as you would expect, after reading some of the comments on this thread.

Trying to stay calm, we'll because, when you are trying to register a SHT LE 1 and the guy is after mk1 not number 1 etc. And getting told to Google it several times. Just had to concede mk1 to keep him happy. Nothing about the SHT LE part.
Me telling him I'm looking at the thing didn't help either.
Oh and when I've said I've grabbed the rifle from the safe I got a safety briefing about being loaded, pointing it in a safe direction etc. That was a bit condescending.
I remarked the ammo was safely locked away as a parting shot. See what I did there

It's when they pick up your 10/22 and the serial number isn't 10/22!

Most likely but 3-4 years down the track is when it can become problematic, all very well saying XYZ, but trust me when the Boys in Blue ring you or come around asking questions about a firearm a few years after the fact you had better have the info they are after or it can get awkward ....especially in a serious circumstance.....have that Tee Shirt, had the answers so all was good

Rest assured when I register my several firearms later this year they will be registered as what they are, not what they think they might be, not many standard ones among them so it could be interesting

Wait times for FSA calls have often been 45 minutes or more lately.

    But don't get angry.
Stick your phone on speaker in your top pocket and go do something useful.
One call recently I got in a 3 km work out while on hold.
Another I cleared some surfaces in the workshop

    Just chill

Had the same experience as many on here, with prolonged wait times (took 5 calls to get through to someone to manage a firearms transfer). Often on hold up to 40+ minutes with no answer. Spoke to the local police station as was hard finding time to have on hold (even when doing other things), unfortunately they also only have the 0800 number. However - excellent service and prompt help once through, sorted in <5 mins. Completed a feedback complaint form detailing my concerns regarding the potential barrier to legal compliance for FAL, however guess it's this time of June!
